Description
Are you looking for decodable reading passages for your students? Decodable reading passages are a great way to reinforce reading skills for beginning readers. Emergent readers need a lot of practice with decodable text passages.
In these lessons, you will focus on one main phonics skill with a decodable reading passage pdf that accompanies the main phonics skill. These decodable reader passages will help your students feel confident reading connected text.
The decodable reading passages also include some sight words. The words are considered sight words if they do not follow a taught phonics pattern. For example, ‘big’ would still be considered a sight word if short i words have not yet been taught.
These lesson plans were designed to be used with a small group, or for one-on-one tutoring. They are based on Orton-Gillingham principles; explicit, purposeful, phonics-based, and contain a multisensory aspect.
The decodable text can also be used as independent reading practice, partner reading, or homework. I love to send one home each week for my students to practice!
